I have owned German Shepherd dogs for over 30 years, I admire the intelligence loyalty and companionship they offer. They are a proud breed who are good with children, but do not immediatly trust strangers. In general they make an excellent family Pet/ guard. they should be treated as part of the family. under no circumstances should they be left alone outside all day just to guard!!. If not taught how to behave you will create a very destructive Pet. THIS BREED NEEDS TO BE BUSY. IT NEEDS A PURPOSE. All German Sepherds in my opinion should participate in some sort of training,they are a fairly large breed and benefit when their natural gifts are chanelled in the right direction. If your lifestyle does not afford you time to spend with your shepherd please dont even think about getting one! I have participated in obedience, agility,flyball and tracking with my dogs, which has taught me how to get the best from them. I dont expect my dogs to read my mind,although at times they seem to! But then, they dont comunicate with words as we do,they communicate with body language,they know our body language extremly well! If you watch your dog closely you will pick up some of his body language,he can tell you if something has been wandering round your garden merely by sniffing,if he is very interested in something you can guarantee it is a scent which entered his enviroment since the last time he was there,he remembers your smell although you often confuse him with aftershaves and perfumes,air fresheners and hairsprays,Your dog desires food company play walks and yes sex if not neutured.They also want a place to fit into the pack,as they are pack animals THEY WERE BORN AMONGST OTHER PUPS, when you take a puppy home it becomes part of your family,IT'S PACK!!. I feel German Shepherd Dogs are by far the best all round breed of dog,capable of any task set,providing it is trained correctly. They have taught me more than I ever taught them! All MY dogs are registered with the Kennel Club. My dog's live indoor's,freely not in kennel's. Before visitors arrive the dogs are put out of the room until it is thier time to greet. My breeding program is my hobby,my pleasure is to produce an occasional litter of pups anyone would be proud to own, a dozen or so family's have returned to me for a second pup. My Girl's are limited to 1 Litter per 12 to 18 months. Sometimes i have pups available to very good homes. I appreciate owner's staying in touch,and any problem's reported to me,so that i can take step's to rectify any faults found in my breeding. If you are interested in a pup please email or phone me. Preference will be given to people who are keen to do some sort of dog training (ie The Kennel Club Good Citizen ) or just attending classes at local clubs.I prefer pet or working dog homes for my pups for reasons i have spoken of above. Only people with similar ideal's, goals, and commitment as myself will be considered for a future breeding prospect . All my pups have their Kennel Club Registration Papers Endorsed. Also a Contract of Ownership and Care will be supplied and must be agreed to and signed before taking your puppy home. My dogs are Healthy,with the added benifits of beauty and brains most importantly they have excellent Temperament. Some of my pups have joined the forces, or are owned as pets by members of the Police/Military,RAF. Which seems quite fitting as my grandad trained dogs in the RAF during the second world war. Most of my pups have found very loving homes pet homes, some of which have done very well in obedience,and have easily passed their Good Citizen Test, then have gone on to compete in obedience competitions , with some very good results, i am very proud of Debbie Aitken from Northern Ireland and Sasha on my news page, with thier success at crufts 2007, and wish them success in 2008.Sasha is the daughter of Realms of Glory at Colandees."Black long coat"My first blacklongcoat girl, I do not enter in the breed show ring with my dogs, MY Personal choice is the longcoat variety,and the Chocolate colour which the breed standard does not prefer.
